The Pizitz
The Pizitz Building was built in 1923 and operated as one of the largest department stores in their state of Alabama. The building closed its doors in the late 1980s and remained vacant and rundown until Bayer Properties purchased the building in 2000. There were many attempts to revitalize the historical structure, but plans fell through with every attempt to add new life to the space.
