Second generation siblings bring local ownership and vast experience to the marketplace
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Brother and sister duo John O. (Chip) Moore and Susan Moore Hall are pleased to announce the opening of Highland Commercial Mortgage in Birmingham, AL. Highland is a fully approved FHA multifamily lender serving clients across the country. The company specializes in construction, refinance, acquisition, and redevelopment loan programs for multifamily, affordable housing and health care.
The Moore family has a strong background in the FHA insured multifamily lending industry that dates back to the early 70s. Susan and Chip joined Highland Mortgage Company, which was a business founded by their father John Moore in 1979 with his partners Pete Field, Charles Welden, and Edgar Welden. Highland Mortgage Company became one of the largest lenders in the country that specialized in apartment and healthcare loans insured by FHA. In 2005 the company was sold to GMAC Commercial Mortgage and subsequently became Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary where Hall and Moore worked as Senior Vice Presidents over the Birmingham operations.
Hall and Moore are now partners in Highland Commercial Mortgage, and though the company is new, it boasts a seasoned staff of underwriters and processors. The entire Birmingham Berkadia staff has joined Highland Commercial Mortgage, creating over 100 years of combined origination and underwriting experience. Banking and finance veteran Pete Hodo III is a new addition to the team and is serving as Chief Operating Officer of the company.
Highland Commercial Mortgage headquarters are located at 33 Inverness Parkway, Suite 140, in Birmingham, Alabama.
